Diane's Bio

Diane Thomson is a retailer, entrepreneur and philanthropist whose mission is to provide women of all ages with not only exquisite lingerie products but also health and well-being.

In 1983, Diane opened Dianes Lingerie and Loungewear Ltd. in the chic South Granville Street Rise near Vancouver's downtown core. Her decision to focus on lingerie was prompted in the large part by her concern that most women were wearing ill-fitting bras. She vowed that at her store, staff would take extra time to ensure each individual was expertly fitted.

Diane Thomson's focus on personal, caring customer service has made the boutique a destination store. Its loyal clientele is attracted to the caring, personal ambience it provides, along with the quality, fit and value it offers. Customers include everyone from teens purchasing their first bras to celebrities to seniors--including a grandmother who wanted a pair of Dianes bras for her 100th birthday.
Diane is not only a retailer but also a philanthropist who gives generously of her time and financial resources to the cause of women's breast health.

She is actively involved with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, B.C./Yukon division. She has immersed herself with the Foundation and through her ongoing generosity, Dianes Lingerie has been given the designation of "Best Friends of the Foundation," the only recipient of this designation. The Foundation has singled out Dianes Lingerie as a store that makes a priority fitting bras properly to ensure breast health.

In addition to her many business accomplishments over the years that she has been serving her customers, Diane has devoted herself to assisting breast cancer survivors and raising funds to fight breast and other forms of cancer. The highlight of our community outreach efforts culminates in our yearly campaign during Breast Cancer Awareness month every October.

As a "Friend of the Foundation" with the BC Yukon Chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Diane Thomson is also a Director of the Retail Merchants' Association of BC.
